Send out SIP messages with FQDN instead of IP address
Hello,
We received the same request from the other customer, to send out SIP messages with FQDN from SN10k instead of IP address. A year ago it was not possible, can you please update us, is it possible now and if not when we can expect that will be possible?
Thanks,

Re: Send out SIP messages with FQDN instead of IP address
Hi,
With FQDN in the NAP, no matter TMG or ProSBC, the process is the same - toolpack sends DNS query to obtain the IP, and the SIP messages are always sent to that IP.
The difference is:
- With rel3.1, which you can configure the DNS for the SIP stack directly, the DNQ query is sent on a configurable interval.
- With rel3.0 and older, the DNS is configured on the host. The DNS query is sent only when you load the configuration.
Best Regards,

Re: Send out SIP messages with FQDN instead of IP address
Hi,
So, at this moment, sending FQDN in SIP messages is not possible. Is there any plan for the implementation of this feature?
Thanks.

Hi,
I don’t think so, FQDN represents IPs, and the messages should be sent to the IP.
